Lake Chelan and Grand Coulee Dam

We woke up to a beautiful sunny morning and got all packed up to head out to Lake Chelan, where we were going to meet up with a friend I went to high school with that was vacationing there from where she lives now in Texas. The drive there wasn't all that pretty, lots of farm land. But still we had never drove that way so just the fact that it was new was neat. When we got to Lake Chelan it was absolutely beautiful! And I was so delighted to see that Katie was just as sweet (if not sweeter) than I remember her to be! We chatted by the pool of their gorgeous vacation rental, as the kids got to know each other. The girls hit it off really well, and played mermaids in the pool! The boys were more shy and kept to them selves, which was completely fine! Katie has four children, two of which are twins that come with a beautiful and amazing birthing story! But you would never know she had four, because this lady's body is ROCKIN!! The time seemed to go by quite quickly and although I loved our time I felt a little bad, like I was intruding on special family time. I hope we have another chance in the future to meet up again, because I truly admire her loving heart and sweet soul!

After seeing Katie, We headed off to Grand Coulee Dam. We had never been out in that area before so we thought we would go take the kids to see it and have dinner before we headed home. It was such a beautiful day, we saw the dam and and then stopped right above it for the kids to play and swim a little! Sadly there have been lots of fires this year in that area and lots of the roads were closed due to one burning at the time. In these next two pictures you can see the top of the mountain is burned and there were actually still fire fighters up there putting out hot spots while we were there.

Its hard to tell in the pictures but the water was SO crystal clear!!! You could see all the way to the bottom in the deeper areas!

This next set of pictures is so funny because here is Riley contemplating on jumping in........

And typical little brother behavior, here comes Cody going to make the decision for her........

And there she goes!! He pushed her in........

And here she is coming out of the water mad at him!!!!! hahaha

Softball!

Riley did so AMAZING at softball this year! I am excited for next spring to see her in action again! Finally a sport I think she will want to do every year. She really enjoyed it, and learned the game quite quickly! Corey was assistant coach and did so well with all of the kids. Riley got some great hits, great runs and made some new really great friends!  I loved watching the games and hearing the girls cheer on their teammates with fun little chats like "Extra, extra, read all about it, Riley's gonna hit the ball, no doubt about it!" So cute!!!

Cody's fish video!

Cody's first fish!

This year Corey took Cody out fishing at Clear lake, Where he caught his first fish!!! He was so excited!!

My sister and brother in law's surprise visit!

Corey had the day off, and we woke up like every morning getting Riley up and ready for school making breakfast and sending her out the door. Then we got ready and Cody ready because it was the day of Kindergarten round up, where they go in and see the school and get to know their surroundings for  the next coming school year where he will be a big time kindergartner! After the kindergarten round up was over we left the school and I said to Corey "why don't we stop and get some lunch somewhere?" He was in agreement but wanted to stop by the house real quick (he told me he had to use the bathroom).
We pulled up to the house and Corey opened the garage door. I got out of the car and then went back to Cody's door to get him out. We started walking into the garage and out of the corner of my eye I saw something move? I looked over and there was my twin sister and her husband!!!! I was so excited but confused that I said "I don't understand? What are you doing here? Oh my gosh! I cant believe you're here? how long are you hear for?" and yes I said all of those questions at once! haha She just laughed and said "surprise!"
Long story short they totally surprised me and were there for four days! We went on a fun bike ride in a nature park, and then spent another day in Sand point Idaho!
