A visit from Miho!

This summer our family friend from Sendai Japan came to visit! We had not seen her in over ten years, so it was long overdue to reunite. She had told us that during the tsunami and earthquake they had no water or electricity for three months and had to ration what food they had, and it obviously showed in how skinny she was! It made me think that what if that were to happen to us and what ever was in our house at that time we had to make last three months. It is crazy to think about and also what we take for granted.

It was the first time any of the kids had met her and they took to her like they had known her all their lives! That's how wonderful she is! The kids also enjoyed all the origami she taught them!

She absolutely LOVES American food, so of course we took her out to splurge!!!!

All in all it was a wonderful visit and I just love her so much! She is such a special lady with such a kind and loving heart!

Yummy Quesadillas

I think I have found my favorite quesadilla recipe! I use corn tortillas and brush on an oil mixture of 1/2 cup of olive oil, 1/4 cup of Basil and 1/8 cup of chopped chives that I have pureed in a food processor. and then lay the brushed oil side down on the indoor grill and add some shredded cheddar and slices of ham and then some more shredded cheddar and then another tortilla topped with a brushing of the oil mixture and then cook till golden brown on one side then flip and grill the other side til golden brown! Absolutely DELICIOUS!

The one I keep going back to

No matter how many foundations I try, I keep going back to this one. I have a very sensitive face, one that is prone to breakouts and allergic rashes and this one always works great for me. My face always seems to stay clear when I use this and I like the slight glow it provides on my face also, its seems to highlight automatically where I would like it to. It is very easy to apply and comes in a good range of shades in my opinion. I like that I can just stick it in my purse and apply when I need touch ups also. It is made by Philosophy and called The supernatural, It is a mineral makeup and I haven't had lots of luck with mineral makeups before in the past, but this one I have really enjoyed. I get it from the Sephora store in our local JcPenneys.

Holiday nails!

I really love this nail polish from Ulta called After Party! Its very festive and sparkles so much. I put two coats on to achieve an amount of sparkle I was happy with!

AHA'S

This is in my opinion the best face cream I have used so far! I have noticed a huge difference in my skin since using this. I started off using it just at night, I would wash my face with my Cetephil gentle skin cleanser and then put some of this on, all over my face and also I would dab it around my eyes and maybe a little extra where I had scarring or wrinkles, I would then wait and let it absorb into my skin, anywhere from ten minutes to a half an hour and then apply my normal night time moisturizer (equate oil free ultra gentle facial moisturizer for sensitive skin from walmart) Then in the morning I would just wash my face with my cetephil again and then use a moisturizer with SPF before apply my makeup.
It was amazing, the first thing I started noticing was my scarring fading away and no new pimples, then I started noticing the fine lines around my eyes looking less visible, I wanted to start using it in the mornings to, but this cream does kinda burn a little when you first start using it, and you have to be careful when in the sun!!! But after a while my face got use to it and I started adding it to my morning routine to! I notice that when I use it in the morning my makeup goes on a lot smoother!
So I now can not go with out using it, when ever I run out and haven't had time to go get some more, I instantly will start breaking out again and my face starts looking dull again, so I then hurry up to Walgreen's (which is the only place you can buy this at) and get me another tub of it!!!

Learning to sew

Riley had been wanting for some time to learn how to sew, and so the other day when we were in the dollar store, she had found a pink sewing kit and asked if she could get it. We got it and brought it home and first I showed her how to sew the hole in her rice heat bag that a friend had made her, and then she surprised her dad by sewing the hole in his flannel! Last but not least she sewed a button on to a sock! hahaha

Silver mountain!

After Thanksgiving was over we took a trip up to silver mountain! What an amazing beautiful place!!!! I wish I would have gotten more pictures of the hotel and lodge area because it was so festive and pretty, They had fireplaces every where outside and Christmas music playing, you felt like you were in a little Christmas town!

After having some drinks in the village and warming up by the fires, we rode up the mountain in the worlds largest gondola ride! It was about a 20 minute ride and the views were breathtaking!

When we got to the top of the mountain, we went to the tubing hills for a fun day of tubing!

Not sure if you can see it in this picture, but this is coming back down in the gondola at night with a view of the village below!
Here are some pictures of the village that I found on the web of Silver mountain! We will definitely be going back!

For Thanksgiving this year  we had the Anderson's and my sister and brother-in-law over, it was good times! We started the morning off with football, mimosas and bloody mary's!

We had a great dinner, with lots of food and great conversation!

Then finished the night off playing games!
