To swim or not to swim?
This summers swim lessons where different then the ones before, because this was the first year for Cody! Although it went completely horrible for him I think some learning came from it? Well at least I hope so! He would not have anything to do with getting in the water, so the instructor just let him sit on the side of the pool for a little while til he finally seemed to persuade Cody into at least getting into the side of the pool. Still not convinced this is what he wanted to do he started crying. It took everything I had to not go rescue him, but I had to let the instructor handle it, they are excellent instructors and they know what they are doing! Their knowledge with children and water of course paid off and he had Cody floating through the water with him singing "motor boat, motor boat"! That's about as far as Cody got this year, but it is way farther than I had anticipated so I am very happy with that! The cutest part was when Cody was crying, The instructor asked if he could make ice cream scoops with his hands and move them through the water, and Cody still crying said "okay" in this sweet little voice and did his ice cream scoops:)
Riley had a great year with swim lessons, she moved up to the point to where she was swimming the length of the pool all by her self!! Also Jumping off of the high dive and swimming to the side with no life vests or floaters of any kinds! We were soooo PROUD of her progress!!

Fun in the sun!
The summer days are over, as we head into fall, I still have fresh memories of the sun we left behind..... This particular day it was fore casted to be hot, so we knew that we wanted to be somewhere around water. We have heard of a place called Williams Lake resort, but always thought that you had to be a member of the resort to go to it. I thought I would just make sure I wasn't mistaken and gave them a call. I am so glad I did, it turns out that it is open to the public for a small daily fee, so we ended up going! The kids had tons of fun, we set up the grill to go and grilled some lunch, while the kids explored the nearby creek, where they found frogs and little Gardner snakes! We then headed down to the sandy beach that the resort provided on the lake and to our surprise there were water slides on docks out in the water!! I might have been more excited than the kids, because I already love water, but I absolutely LOVE water slides!!! All in all the day was great and we will definitely be going back to Williams lake resort again next year!!
How awesome is my husband!
What a great guy I have! The last couple of days I have been sick, but moms cant be sick, duh!!! As I still get breakfast done and Riley off to school, me and Cody venture out to get some groceries, but just going to one store is out of the question for us. We go to either Yokes or Safeway for all of our gluten free items, then to the dollar store for soaps and chips and spices, then off to Walmart for everything else on the list. We get home and I make me and Cody some lunch then we finally get to lay down for some much needed rest! Cody falls to sleep very fast, he has always been a great napper! Me on the other hand cannot stop my nose from running, I end up wadding some Kleenex in my nose and try to fall asleep with it just stuck up there! (don't laugh, you know you have done it to! ha ha) right as I am just to that point were you are awake but asleep at the same time, my doorbell rings. I would like to answer it with a "really? I am sick and was about to fall asleep, this better be good!". But I didn't, I answered it with a smile and blood shot eyes! It was my neighbor Janet, an older widowed lady that I know is lonely and just wants someone to talk to. She asks if I will look at a letter she has written and make sure that it doesn't sound rude. Okay, I say thinking that I really need to have this lady over more for tea or something because if she is waking me up to read a letter she wrote she must be lonely!!! I tell her the letter looks great and it does not come off as rude at all! She gives me a nice smile and says "thank you". I go crawl back into bed but cant fall back asleep. then at two my other neighbor brings her youngest over for me to watch while she takes her other to an eye apt. I accept, because I know she would and does do the same for me. After the appointment she comes back and picks up her daughter. I start dinner and put an apple pie in the oven that was frozen from the freezer. We ate dinner and the exhaustion starts really kicking in, that's when Corey says go to bed I got this! I go lay down and he takes care of the kids, Riley's homework, and the apple pie that I forgot I had put in the oven! He even picks up the house that I have completely neglected the last couple of days! Thank you honey, you ar
e the best!

Project time!
Before
During
After
One of the things we did to the house this year was put in a new floor! The previous owners had rented the house out to college kids and by the time we got our hands on it, it was in pretty bad shape, especially the carpet! You could just tell this was a party house. I shampooed like 5 times before we moved in but it just wasn't cutting it! So we ripped up all the carpet and put down laminate hard wood, which was what was in our budget! It started off fun, the whole family was involved in ripping up staples and putting down new boards! But by the third day of working nonstop, with swollen hands and bruised knees, I was so ready for it to be done!! One of the funny parts though was that on one of the boards we each wrote our names on it and something completely stupid, thinking it would be cool that when a new owner went to rip up the boards would find our names and silly phrases!!

American by birth, Biker by choice
On one of our trips home this summer, we decided to haul the bike down so Corey could ride with his dad! I must admit, my man looks pretty hot on his bike!!
